Under the Moors
On the ridge between Rosedale and Farndale stands the Blakey Inn,
known too many generations of the Ryedale and Cleveland forbears
as the Lion Inn.
Few public houses are more remote from the urban world. But round
Blakey there is enough evidence that the rigg on which it stands
has know travellers since men first set foot in the district.
George Carnard is a 45 year old business man. He is travelling
from Liverpool towards Middlesborough one evening and decides to
take the unusual route across the moors.....
