Wish You Weren’t Here

For 15 years, England’s ‘most-hated building’ cast a shadow over the seafront of Bournemouth. The Waterfront (IMAX) building was an attempt to elevate the resort to a new level, but it ended up one of the most controversial and embarrassing misjudgements in the town’s history. It also sparked a conversation about how we design and use public spaces in our towns and cities, which is perhaps more important now than ever. This is its story…
