From a young age I have been a bit of a chatterbox. One parents evening back in secondary school my form tutor said to my parents that I should have my own chat show. Looking back I was never the academic type so I thought why not be a radio presenter. So here I am now, aged 21 and about to graduate.

Over the past 3 years, I have undertaken roles within many projects and as a result have gained many skills and broadened my knowledge about the radio industry through practice and hands on work experience.

I started my journey at the age of 15 when I volunteered at Southlands Hospital radio station and since then I have been heavily involved with stations such as Heart FM, Capital FM, BBC Radio1 and 1Xtra, Fire Radio, Juice FM and Spotify. I have also attended events at BBC Talent Pool at Broadcasting House and the Channel 4 Pop Up event in Bournemouth.

I have also gained substantial experience using software such as Myriad, Adobe Audition, Garageband and Audacity as part of my degree and have expanded these skills on my work placements.

As part of my degree I have also had to produce and present different types of radio, including two 30-minute documentaries aimed at a BBC Radio 1 audience, and a 10-minute piece for FunKids Radio named “A Pugs Life”.

Combining my three years of studying with my various work placements I feel confident going into the ‘media world’ to start my exciting journey!
