Katie Bell Biography

Katie Bell is an innovative aspiring radio content producer who grew up in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. With and early passion for media production, at the age of 16 Katie obtained work experience with the UK’s previously famous pirate station Radio Jackie, where her passion grew to studying Radio at Bournemouth University.

During her first year Katie was voted Student Representative and at the beginning of her second year in University, she was short listed and chosen for the role of Peer Assisted Learner. In 2014, Katie obtained a three month internship with London based production company, Create Soho. Here she worked with a variety of Client’s such as Jack Daniels, Spotify and the NHS, working to briefs and creating media content across television, advertising, radio and experiential campaigns. Katie has also worked for FunKids online digital radio as a production assistant, creating specialist children’s content such as the Bin Weevils show and coverage of live events.

She has developed industry awareness of working and adapting content to audience demographics and has wide knowledge of the radio market, different station and programme styles. With a passion for innovative audio storytelling Katie produced a ten minute adaptation of the children’s story book ‘The Tiger who came to tea’. As well as this Katie has produced and edited specialist radio drama such as ‘Be my Baby’, an adaptation of Amanda Whittington’s 1994 stage play.
