Radio-7

Being a complete music enthusiast, with a diverse taste in electronica and funk, however without any musical skill in playing an instrument, and with zero vocal talent to be found encouraged me to seek another route into entering the industry in managing content for radio.

During my education at Bournemouth University, studying Radio enabled me to expand my technical skills, allowing for my love of music to be put into play through editing and mixing songs. I am passionate in combining and creating great audio in this way so the layering of  sound effects and music have become the heart of all shows, features and documentaries made, portraying creativity and a distinct sound in productions.

Being described as ‘the organised one’ in social situations has allowed these skills to be applied within radio, most recently for BU Student station Nerve, assisting in running an outside broadcast for the BU Vs Southampton Solent varsity event.

Discovery Beats Podcast – a 20 minute music podcast created in May 2014, targeting music enthusiast’s with the aim in educating listeners to unusual dance genres. Produced and presented by myself, I talk with South African artist Kabelo Mabalane about the culture that surrounds the uniquely South African music genre that is Kwaito.
