Interview With Broadcast Journalist Lynda Smith

Adam sat down with Lynda Smith, broadcast journalist and programme leader of MA Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University to talk about the changing face of modern journalism.  

Lynda and Adam talk about the effects on journalism caused by moving to online platforms, the rise of fake news, and the journalist’s role in combating it’s spread. They discuss the problem’s the BBC faces surrounding trust and impartiality. Lynda also describes her experiences of working on major stories like the Windrush Scandal and tracking down the first British captain to be kidnapped by Somali pirates.
